We moved to Bloomington Hills just 6 months ago to be closer to schools and work for me. We are still loving it here in Saint George. I can't imagine living anywhere else. I am still working for Intermountain Healthcare and probably always will. What can I say? I LOVE my job. Kids just started school a couple weeks ago and now they are both in school ALL day and Challis and I are loving it! I finally got the girls into piano lessons. I went out and bought a keyboard and it works perfect, because the girls can practice and they can actually turn it down so Challis can work on the phones in the other room! They are learning so much.
We have had a tough year with our little Haley too. I always knew that she was such an active kid...I could tell she was going to be when she was able to start walking. Anyways...after being to Dr. several times and discussing her behavior with her teacher at school, her Dr. diagnosed her with extreme ADHD and Anxiety. My heart melted to know that my child has a medical condition that I knew nothing about. I won't go in to detail but to sum it up...she stopped sleeping at night, had 2+ hours of temper tantrums over nothing, she would literally hit her face, pinch herself, and purposely hurt herself in any way she could. I was losing sleep at night, especially on the days I had to be at work at 5 am, because she couldn't calm down, but she didn't know what was wrong. It was very heart breaking but also very exhausting at the same time. Her Dr. tried a couple of different meds but nothing seemed to work...and right in the middle of all this while attending a missionary farewell for my nephew, one of my other nephews who i practically raised from birth, called Child Protective Services on us the next day. (Thanks, Christian and Ronald!) Of course after investigating for TWO days, they found NO EVIDENCE or even a case after all the videos of Haley that I recorded of her behavoir, and all the documentation that her Dr. gave them as well as the interview they did with him. They even came to Aleah's school and pulled her out of class to speak to her. My life has been forever changed after that whole experience. You would think that a family member would come and ask whats up with your child before going and making the most horrible accusation like that! We finally found a medication for her for the daytime as well as night and they are working great! Hardly any temper tantrums now, and she seems to focus so much more. Yay!
Those of you that do know me, know that I love my little family more than anything! I have an interest in this blogging business and now more than ever for a few reasons. I stopped writing in my journal when Aleah was a baby...and I used to be very diligent! Also, my sister in law was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer and her husband has started a blog for her journey and it made me think of my blog that I never write in! =) Hope you enjoy things that I write. It may not be the most proper or entertaining blog, but I will tell you that it is %100 me!
